The Growth of Park and Ride Facilities

Posted by jumbo on Jan 31, 2011 in Mumbai | 1,203 commentsPark and ride facilities have emerged and developed all over the world. It was initially meant for those that work in the cities to park their cars in the suburbs and take public transport such as a train or a bus. This has helped many people not have to worry about parking once they arrive in the city and has saved them on parking fees. Also, it helps reduce traffic in the city centre. This idea has extended to include those that are travelling long distance. This would either mean parking at a bus station, a train station or even an airport for the duration you will be away. These facilities allow you to pay a reasonable price to park for a few days and are very convenient. DFW parking and other airport parking facilities provide park and ride facilities. Due to the great sizes of airports these days, parking and riding seems to be the only way to get between parking and the terminals.

Backpackers Guide to France

For those that grew up learning French in the classroom, it is an interesting experience to watch a French-Canadian drama in Paris and see that parts of the performance still might be subtitled, due to colloquialisms that tend to crop up over a 400 year history of semi-separation. However, the travel adage that trying to speak French in Paris will make you friends is still true today.

Language aside, traveling through France with a backpack and usually a set of public transit schedules, is a rite of passage that attracts tourists of all ages. The following travel guides should aid you in your western European travels.

Most travelers utilize Paris as a hub for their journey, opting to explore the city either before or after they have gone off to see parts of the rest of the country. And of course, Paris continues to charm most visitors, with a lively nightlife made up of excellent theater, jazz, art shows, and food.

But whether you choose to start in Paris or Nice, the main suggestion that experience dictates is to plan ahead 80%- and let the other 20% of the environment that you experience once you get there be your guide. Countless conversations with satisfied travelers reveal that building flexibility into a schedule can lead to the most satisfying experiences.

The next thing that might be wise to consider is the mindset of those that you are traveling with. Many travelers actually end up splitting up for portions of their trip because they have hard and fast interests that don’t match completely with their travelling companions for several hours to several days. Being prepared to either compromise or split up can save you a lot of time, once you’ve arrived.

Another common thing that individuals or groups tend to focus on is a theme for the trip. You might choose a region of France, or a piece of French culture, such as cheesemaking to help plan your itinerary.

Among regions, Gascony, the French Riveria, and the French Alps, all draw thousands of tourists a year.

Gascony is in Southwest France and was settled long before the Romans arrived and gave it its name. With some of the least spoiled medieval towns and castles in the country, visitors are also able to avail themselves of the signature Bordeaux wines and foie gras.

The French Riveria is the southern part of France that borders the Mediterranean. Home to Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo, and some of the bluest water you have ever seen, it also features great art museums in the cities and Roquefort cheese and Languedoc wines in the countryside.

The French Alps have been home to three sets of Winter Olympic Games, in Chamonoix, in Grenoble, and in Albertville. In fact, the very first Winter Olympics were held at Chamonoix on Mount Blanc in 1924. Aside from hiking, equestrian events, sweeping views, and plenty of winter sports, travelers frequently explore the local Savoyard cuisine. Blended in culturally from a time when the King of Savoy, who later became the first modern King of Italy, retained power in the region, foods such as fondue, raclette, and cold cuts are favorites with North Americans familiar with Canadian travel.

The Possibility to Watch Youtube from China

If we would have said that it is impossible to watch Youtube from China, it would have been true, the technology had not moved ahead to such an extent. Even though the Chinese government has banned the site, but still it is possible to watch videos from there.

Strange, isn’t it? You would be wondering that when the government of China has blocked the site how it can be possible to watch Youtube from China. The use of a VPN has made it totally possible. You do not need to rely on your government for unblocking a site. By simply hiding your IP address, you can access just any blocked site from any part of the world. With a different IP address, you will not be recognized to be in China and the banned site will open for you. It is truly amazing that despite the ban placed by government, majority of the people in China are accessing the site through a VPN or a Proxy.

A Family Tradition

Every year my family and I go to Teotihuacan. This is a family tradition and not because we are of Mexican descent but mainly because my parents love not only the weather but also the locals who are really warm and friendly. I have to admit that I’ve had enough of the place because we always do the same things; it can be really boring. However, this year my sisters and I are going to propose a different destination. We don’t have to go to Europe, we could still go to Mexico but this time we should stay away from Teotihuacan. We would love to go to Yucatan, which is located a couple of miles away from Teotihuacan and that has a nice coast where we could enjoy the great weather. My parents might like it because there are lots of archaeological sites that might interest them as well as things we might like.
